The Air Jordan 9 “Powder Blue” will make a return in 2024, 14 years after its last release. Furthermore, the pair is a nod to his alma mater, the University of North Carolina (UNC).
The “Powder Blue” Air Jordan 9 was released a total of two times. First released in 1994, we saw a retro take place in 2010. However, the retro was different compared to the original release. For example, the retro featured the number 23 embroidered on the heel in Black, whereas the OG pair didn’t have his number. Also, the shade of Blue was slightly different.
This Air Jordan 9 features a White, Black, and Dark Powder Blue color combination. Expected to return true to OG form, which technically would be the first for the colorway. White leather appears on the upper with its signature stitching on the panels. Black appears on the tongue, eyelets, liner, Jumpman on the midsole, and heel pull loops. Highlighting the shoes is Powder Blue on the midsole, tongue branding, and heel. A mostly White rubber outsole finishes the look.
